Who we are
School Decide is a study abroad counseling service that helps students apply to programs in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. We also work as a recruitment partner for universities, including York St John University (United Kingdom), in Latin America. Information we collect
When you fill out a form, register for an event or webinar, email us, or message us on WhatsApp, we collect the details you choose to share: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country of residence, study interests, and any message you send. We also keep a record of the permissions you give us, such as whether you agreed to receive marketing messages and when. Our website also receives basic technical information that your browser sends automatically, such as your IP address and device type. When we send you emails, we may record whether a message was delivered, opened, or clicked, so we can improve our communications.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to your request, schedule counseling sessions, recommend programs, and support your applications and visa process. We may contact you by email, phone, or WhatsApp about your inquiry.
Emails and WhatsApp messages about events and programs
If you tick the optional box on our forms, or sign up at one of our events, we may send you emails and WhatsApp messages about webinars, education fairs, scholarships, application deadlines, and university programs, including those of our partner universities. This is optional and is not required to receive help with your request.
You can stop these messages at any time: use the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email, reply “STOP” to a WhatsApp message, or write to info@schooldecide.com. We will still answer any request you send us.
Who we share it with
With your permission, we share the information needed to apply on your behalf with the universities and colleges you choose, and with visa or immigration authorities where required. We use trusted service providers to operate our services, such as website hosting, email delivery (Amazon Web Services), and messaging (WhatsApp, operated by Meta). These providers may only use your information to provide their services to us. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
International transfers
School Decide operates from the United States and works with students in several countries. Your information may be stored or processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers or the universities you choose are located. We take reasonable steps to protect it wherever it is processed.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide our services and meet legal obligations, and then we delete it or make it anonymous. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address only on a suppression list so that we do not contact you again.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, to withdraw any permission you gave us, or to stop contacting you, at any time by emailing info@schooldecide.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection laws, such as Colombia’s Law 1581 of 2012. We will respond to your request within the time required by the applicable law.
